Common Purple Lilac
(Syringa vulgaris)

Lilacs have fragrant light purple blossoms in May. They make a good screen or wind block. They have attractive gree foliage and can be used as a hedge, bush, or trimmed into a small tree.

Site requirements: Lilacs are easily grown on most soil types, but prefers neutral to slightly acid soil. They do not tolerate poorly-drained soils and perform best in a warm sunny location.
